It’s finally fall and pumpkin spice is back!
Actually, this flavorful symbol of the season has been back in most coffee shops and bakeries since September. It’s still going strong, but you’ll need to hurry before fall fades to winter and the pumpkin spice disappears again until next year.
Pretty much every coffee shop now has a pumpkin spice flavor due to high demand, but there are some particularly good ones in the Dallas area.
There’s no reason to limit your pumpkin spice enjoyment to beverages, though. There are also plenty of companies in the area that don’t necessarily do coffee, but they certainly do pumpkin spice.
If you aren’t sure where to go for quality pumpkin spice, you should definitely try out these local treasures for tasty pumpkin spice treats.
White Rock Coffee
White Rock Coffee has three Dallas locations, and each one offers a pumpkin spice flavor that can go in any beverage from the classic latte to an iced chai tea. It’s made with real pumpkin, and as an added bonus, the syrup is both vegan and gluten free.
Aside from their popular pumpkin spice syrup, White Rock Coffee offers a variety of pumpkin desserts for fall including pumpkin cheesecake, iced pumpkin scones, and pumpkin mini loaves.
Sip Stir Café
This uptown coffeehouse also has the classic pumpkin spice latte or chai tea latte.
It has a really zen atmosphere and free Wi-Fi. You can sip your pumpkin spice beverage of choice while soaking up the spa-like feeling.
Bread Winners Bakery and Bistro
The bakery boasts pumpkin streusel bread or cheesecake - not to mention a killer carrot cake! There are three locations in Dallas, including one downtown.
All goods are baked fresh daily, but you might want to call ahead to check that the pumpkin is on the menu for the day or order one specifically, as they don’t bake everything on their extensive list every day.
This bakery in the Bishop Arts District has a seasonal pumpkin pie with a gingerbread crust called Drop Dead Gorgeous. The name is apt as even photos of the pie can set your mouth watering for some custardy pumpkin pie.
Eatzi’s Market and Bakery
With three locations in Dallas, it shouldn’t be difficult to find this great shop to pick up your own Pumpkin Spice Cake topped with cream cheese icing and marzipan pumpkins. Or try their mini Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecakes!
Paciugo Gelato & Caffé
In addition to their standard pumpkin cheesecake gelato, Paciugo is offering a seasonal spiced pumpkin gelato which can be eaten solo or put into an espresso frappé, steamed gelatte or gelato shake.
This isn’t a purely local company, but it is known as a great gelato chain. With six locations in the Dallas area, there’s bound to be one close to you.
The list of flavors available from this frozen yogurt chain is immense. For a fro-yo take on a delicious beverage, pair the pumpkin pie flavor with the vanilla chai latte flavor. It’s like eating an iced pumpkin spice latte with a spoon.
Nikki’s Popcorn Company
If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, try the pumpkin spice popcorn at Nikki’s Popcorn Company.
Popcorn and pumpkin spice might not sound complementary at first, but as with many of the company’s gourmet popcorn creations, it really just works.
Tea 2 Go
You've got to try the Pumpkin Pie Latte on the 'Secret Menu' at Tea 2 Go! To spice it up a bit - make it a Dirty Chai! There are several locations in the Dallas area - including one right next door to our Coppell Salon - grab one on your way to your next appointment, you won't regret it!
This list of pumpkin spice treats in the Dallas area should give you some great ideas for where to get this classic fall fix before the season changes again.
Try one or all of them while there’s still time!
