Tangerine Salon's Cedar Hill location is now Laura Elena Salon. The new owners, Shari Barnes and Jennifer Reynolds have an amazing history at that location and now they are at the helm. For all of our current guests, not much changes except the name. The telephone number and staff remain.
How Tangerine Cedar Hill came to be
Almost four years ago, we were asked by our Aveda distributors to consider taking over a location in Cedar Hill that was known as Worx Salon. The owner, Laura Castro, who had started Worx many years before, had terminal cancer and the salon was closed.
Tangerine took over the location in 2010 and enjoyed building our business there. In the meantime, some of Laura's former staff, Shari and Jennifer, opened a salon down the street and named it Laura Elena, after their former mentor. Laura had an amazing impact in not only their business life, but their personal life as well.
When our lease renewal came up, I weighed our options of continuing the business as is, or selling it. Since it was far from our "neck of the woods" I felt another steward of the property would be best.
I decided to seek out Shari and Jennifer and proposed to them owning the salon. They are local people who have a history in that location and I knew they would be very successful there. We formed an agreement for the location to become theirs and I am proud to say that all of the current staff, including our wonderful manager, Janet Gonzales, will be staying with the new company.
All of us at Tangerine are very honored to have had the opportunity to serve Cedar Hill for the past three years and now very excited to see Shari's and Jennifer's success in their community. The video below tells their story.
